i remember now..

it had been awhile since i had worked in a retail/community chain pharmacy and over that lapse of time working i had forgotten how rude customers could be.

a guy got mad at us cuz his prescription took 30 minutes to fill. wtf son? that’s not even that long. i don’t understand why patients feel like drugs should be ready in 5 minutes. these are drugs you’re taking people!! drugs that, if misfilled or if directions are incorrectly typed and therefore drugs incorrectly taken, then you might suffer serious consequences! this isn’t freakin fast food here!!!!

also they fail to keep in mind that 30 other people dropped of prescriptions before them and for some reason feel like they should magically get to cut in front of everyone else.

we had one such guy today and it just really irritated me because really, 30 minutes isn’t that long compared to some of the other wait times other patients are/were willing to wait.

  1. haha yeah welcome back to the retail world. People will have this idea that this is just like some sort of fast food restaurant. This isn’t like throwing away a piece of lettuce on your sandwich that you asked for plain and dry. It’s about making sure we get it right, not the time. 30 minutes isn’t anything compared to what our patients have to wait for. Seriously, you’re at a place where you can entertain yourself for 30 minutes maybe even more.
